Brian Payne has come up in many conversations that I’ve had with 3-Gunners all across the country. He is a rifle builder at JP Enterprises, father to two amazing shooters in our sport and a heavy influence to many that have come up shooting competition in Minnesota. I was fortunate to meet Brian at the Nordic Vortex Tri-Gun and his kindness lived up to the legend. In this episode we dive into his start in 3-Gun in his 40’s, how he practiced and taught his boys to shoot without a huge ammo budget and the importance of mentoring new people in the sport.
Be sure to listen to the beginning and listen to the first retraction I’ve recorded for the show. I totally got the story about the 2016 Rockcastle 3-Man 3-Gun wrong and I set the record straight.
Highlights of the Podcast:
